Write to Richmond city Council now!

Please take a minute to ask Richmond to join the Sue Big Oil lawsuit.

Richmond is on the frontlines of climate change, particularly when it comes to costly flooding and rising sea levels. The economic impact to our city could reach billions in damages from a single major flood, putting local families and businesses under enormous financial strain.

Richmond’s ongoing investments in dikes and pump station upgrades will help us stay ahead of the challenge, but the estimated cost of just the dike improvements alone is over $1 billion in the decades ahead.

Meanwhile, the fossil fuel industry the leading cause of climate change continues to profit while communities like ours bear the burden. That’s why eleven other B.C. municipalities have joined the Sue Big Oil campaign: to hold major polluters financially accountable for a fair share of the damages.

Now, Richmond has the chance to stand with them. Add your voice and ask City Council to protect our city’s future by supporting this important initiative.
